Uncle Bonsai! House Concert Dec. 10
Hello all;
Our last four house concerts have introduced my Half Moon Bay friends to Brazilian choro, as well as presenting wonderful classical and other music.
Its time for a 180.
Uncle Bonsai is celebrating their 35th anniversary. Based in Seattle, they are described thusly:
Imagine what might happen if Tim Burton hijacked the Andrews Sisters en route to a Stephen Sondheim festival with The Beatles and Tom Lehrer in the sidecar; youd get Seattle super-harmonizers Uncle Bonsai.
The Seattle Times says:
"Singers Ratshin, O'Neill and Adler are pitch-perfect in their delivery of often complex harmonic arrangements. And if there were an Ella Fitzgerald Award for Exquisite Elocution in Song, they would surely get it. The trio officially bills itself as a "folk" outfit, but has none of the naiveté that label might suggest. These are nicely edgy, sour-sweet songs, written for grown-ups."
They celebrate their 35th anniversary with a short tour of California. What better way? Be prepared to pay attention - the lyrics move by pretty quickly.
As always, this will be at the lovely home of one of our friends.

TIME: 7:30-9:30 pm, doors/food ~6:30 pm

TICKETS: $25 suggested
This will be a gathering of many people who know each other one way or another, so we want to give it a community feel. We will frontload the event with some food and drink, but ask that you also bring a small contribution of food or beverage to share. This will be a two hour, two set gig, starting at 7:30 PM, with the doors opening around 6:30 PM. There is ample street parking.
We have a suggested $25 ticket price for this event. If you would like to attend, and want or need to be either more or less generous than the $25 ticket price, please send me a message, and we will take care of that at the door, rather than through the Brown Paper Tickets link.
