Writers and Readers Symposium
Spend a day, including a delicious lunch with homemade desserts, with the following award-winning authors: Rheta Grimsley Johnson, award-winning nonfiction author and nationally syndicated columnist; Peter Cooley, the current Poet Laureate of Louisiana; Deborah Johnson, an award-winning novelist; and Melissa Delbridge, award-winning memoirist.
Registration is from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. on February 18, 2017 at beautiful Hemingbough Convention Center in St. Francisville, LA. From 9:00 a.m. to noon, these four authors will read from and discuss their writing and creative processes. At noon, lunch will be served and participants will be able to eat lunch with these authors. Following lunch and homemade desserts, moderator Carolyn Thornton will ask the authors questions about their writing.
Conundrum Books and Puzzles in St. Francisville will have copies of these authors' books on site for sale, and the authors will be delighted to autograph them and chat with participants.
A Novel Image Art Show will also be held in conjunction with the Symposium. It will include photographs, paintings, and sculptures related to writing and literature. The audience will pick their favorite works of art, and awards will be given to the first, second and third place winners.
