Baroque Music Montana House Concert
Music from the Beartooths - a concert series in Red Lodge Montana presents Baroque Music Montana
Baroque Music Montana is a nationally acclaimed ensemble dedicated to the music of the 18th century and earlier: The Bach Family, Buxtehude, Handel, Telemann, and a bunch of Italians. The group was founded by violinist Carrie Krause, of Bozeman, Montana who has collected outstanding musicians from around the world. January's all-18th century German program features Violinist Davina Clarke of London, Lutenist John Lenti (theorbo, lute, archlute, and baroque guitar) of Seattle, Washington and Bassoonist Nate Helgeson of Portland, Oregon. They perform on period instruments from the Baroque era - a Red Lodge premiere!
The program will feature two organ trios by Bach, solo works by Handel and Telemann for solo Bassoon and Lute, a sonata by Buxtehude, and several movements of a fascinating work: Gulliver's Travels, by Telemann.
The concert is conceived as a wonderful time to relax after the Hubub of the Hectic Holidays, in a warm home setting, enjoying the music of another time. The seating, in a fine private home near Red Lodge, is extremely limited, so get your reservations in early. Tickets will go on sale December 1. The price is an astonishingly low $30, so you can't afford to miss this wonderful concert! There will be great music, delicious appetizers, international cheeses, lots of bubbly, mulled wine, coffee, and chocolates.
