BABA JOON was Israel's official selection to the Academy Awards in 2016 and captured five of Israels Ophir awards (like Oscars)in 2015. The title is a Persian term of endearment, which a son might address to his father.

BABA JOON is a coming-of-age story, set in a Persian-immigrant community in the Israeli desert during the early 1980s. The film deals with the struggle between the migrant generation, which is holding on to past traditions from another country, and the generation born into a new identity and seeking out a fresh start.
