Jim Fischer Christmas 2016
Pianist and entertainer Jim Fischer presents his 14th annual benefit Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 3rd, with shows at 3 and 7 pm. This Vancouver-Portland area holiday tradition with music for the whole family will be presented at First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main Street in Vancouver, WA. Directing from the grand piano, Jim and his ensemble musicians perform fresh arrangements of Christmas favorites. And, quite often, original compositions with a seasonal flavor are added to the holiday mix.
Joining Jim on stage for an added treat at points in the concert is the Northwest Harmony Chorus, a 40+ all-female singing group directed by Nancy Kurth. Returning for a grand finale selection, Jim, his players and the chorus will fill the venue with a rousing sing-along that makes it hard for concert-goers not to leave the performance without a joyous song in their heads and the holiday spirit in their hearts. The concert is a benefit for Friends of the Carpenter, a Vancouver-based non-denominational day shelter, offering assistance to those in need of restarting their lives on a path to self-sufficiency and positive fulfillment.
