What happens when top women chefs from Baja gather at a top spa for a culinary festival? Deliciousness!

Join us for an unforgettable culinary festival on October 29, 2016 from 4-10pm in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico.

At famed fitness resort and spa Rancho La Puertas LA COCINA QUE CANTA culinary center at the base of beautiful Mt. Kuchumaa.

Feast on the many tastes of Baja California created by its
top women chefs, from food-truck stars to acclaimed fine
dining masters.


- Tour one of North Americas finest organic farms.
- Sip fine wines from Baja's Valle de Guadalupe.
- See the annual Rancho La Puerta Day of the Dead altar - one of Baja's most amazing.
- Listen and dance to live music.

We are offering tickets with roundtrip transportation from E. Mission Bay in San Diego, and tickets without transportation. Please read below for all the important transportation directions.

If you purchase a ticket without transportation please arrive to La Cocina Que Canta at 4pm. Use GPS Map Coordinates to find your way to the entrance of the event, GPS: 32.564246, -116.667733

DIRECTIONS FROM THE US TECATE BORDER TO LA COCINA QUE CANTA
As you drive across the border, go straight 2 blocks; at the second signal light turn right onto Av. Juarez/Tecate- Tijuana/Tijuana - Tecate/ Mexico2.
As you are driving on Avenida Juarez be on the lookout for the RED CROSS Building as a landmark. After passing the RED CROSS drive for a couple of blocks, until you reach the next signal light.
Turn right onto Avenida Cuchuma Drive straight on Avenida Cuchuma for about a mile, the paved road will become a dirt road LCQC entrance gate will be ahead about 600 yards where the dirt road curves to the left.
There will be signs with directions to the gates of La Cocina Que Canta.

If you purchase a ticket with transportation, you will be picked up from the San Diego Visitor Center on East Mission Bay: 2688 East Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, CA 92109.
Meet at the 45 passenger luxury coach which will be waiting in the large parking area slightly north of the visitor center. Crossing the border is typically fast and easy! PLEASE BRING YOUR VALID PASSPORT.*
*Those with Sentri Cards must still bring passports.

The bus leaves at 3:00 pm, please be there early around 2:45 pm. Look for the bus with Culinary Festival/ La Cocina Que Canta banner. You will arrive at La Cocina Que Canta at 4:30 pm. The event concludes at 9:00 pm, and you will arrive back to the Visitor Center by 10:30pm.

Take the Clairemont Drive exit, EXIT 22, toward East Mission Bay Drive
Turn left onto Clairemont Dr. Click for Map
Drive into SD Visitor Center on East Mission Bay parking lot and find the Charter Bus with the Rancho La Puerta sign.  Meet at the 45 passenger luxury coach which will be waiting in the large parking area slightly north of the visitor center.

From 5 South
Take the Clairemont Drive exit, EXIT 22, toward East Mission Bay Drive
Turn left onto Clairemont Dr.
Drive into SD Visitor Center on East Mission Bay parking lot and find the Charter Bus with the Rancho La Puerta sign. Meet at the 45 passenger luxury coach which will be waiting in the large parking area slightly north of the visitor center.


Are there ID requirements? Is there an age requirement?
A valid passport is required; please take this with you to the event.  All guests must be 18 years of age and older.

A valid passport is mandatory for crossing the border. Should you not have your valid passport, please be aware that you will be detained at the border and will have to pay approximately $150 to take additional transportation back to your car. For non-U.S. citizens, please be aware of your country's Visa and special border crossing requirements

What to wear and bring:
Wear warm clothing (smart casual). Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.

Physical requirements: If you have trouble navigating steps, slightly uneven brick paths, rustic tile floors, and being out in the rows in the vegetable garden, then this event is not for you. We are very sorry but we also cannot accommodate aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please present a printed or e-ticket upon boarding the bus.

What is the refund policy?

13 days or less before arrival date, full payment is non-refundable per person.

La Cocina Que Canta reserves the right to reschedule or cancel this event.  For example, it may be canceled due to inclement weather. Any fees will be returned in full if we cannot accommodate your schedule with a new date.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
If the name of the guest going does not match the ticket, please inform us via email at reservations@rancholapuerta.com prior to the event. If you purchased a ticket for somebody else please have him or her reference your name upon check in.

A note about the bus ride:
Rancho La Puerta is reached via California State Highway 94 which runs southeast from downtown San Diego. The 22.3-mile stretch between Jamacha Junction and Tecate is a very scenic road through the mountains, but also very curvy in many parts. Our drivers are careful and considerate, but if you have a tendency toward motion sickness, please consider a motion-sickness medication.
