Getting a bottom to sub-space and intensifying the emotions and reactions can have a lot to do with how you connect at the beginning and during a scene. When to connect and when maybe it gets in the way!
- Safety Third! (Only because it's the thing we'll be covering.)
- Where and how to hit.
- Timing. Whether a rhythmic, trance like space, or Sado/Masochistic and more, some ideas on timing and technique to achieve your goals.
- Boredom and the art of flogging: When it looks really boring, it might be sublime. REALLY understanding what's going on.
- Effective flogging. You can be effective, RIGHT AWAY
- What's Spinach Got to Do With It? Double flogging and what I learned from a total green newbie in BDSM. There's more than just how to double flog. Learning from others.
This 3 hour workshop includes a demonstration of a flogging scene and hands on training (bring a flogger or two, medium length 14 18 would be best). Floggers will also be provided for practice.
Many have found the demo portion useful to getting an idea of what a scene looks like from start to finish. The demo will be broken into a sensual, warm-up, get them into a good head space (often that's all that's needed for a great scene, and then the Sado/Masochistic and cathartic flogging.

*Starting in the late 70s before the interweb, before knowing anybody actually does this sort of thing, Wise had to seduce girlfriends into BDSM. The cornerstone of that seduction is knowing what each other really needs, and fulfilling that need. "All I do is lead people where they want to go." That's the focus of most of his workshops: find out what you both really need and how you need to get it. Then lead them there.
Carter Steven's Pocono Fall Fetish Fling (in 1998) was his first foray into the public scene where Joe and candi taught him what they know about flogging. After learning from lots of people, he became a profession top and he's given workshops at the York Play Group, Brimstone, The first NDDS bootcamp and The Warehouse, Sexploratorium, The Kink Shoppe and more.
He also participates in the BDSM module of SAR at Widener University, for the Graduate Class in Human Sexuality, exposing future therapists to some aspects of BDSM.
