Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" Onstage!
Footballs, Scotchka, a Doggie, and of course, Spoons! Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" takes the stage as the premier production in Portland's newest performance space - Mister Theater. Follow the trials and tribulations of Johnny as he uncovers secrets about his future wife Lisa and his best friend Mark. Rounding out the ensemble are the young Denny, Lisa's overbearing mom Claudette, Peter the psychologist, young lovers Bran and Michelle, bad guy Chris-R, and some other guy who randomly becomes Peter in the 4th act.
Panned by Entertainment Weekly as the "Citizen Kane of Bad Movies", Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" incorporates all of the terrible elements of the film that you know and love into a delightfully entertaining stage play.
The play is directed by Ryan Cloutier, whose previous film-to-stage adaptations include "Manos" The Hands of Fate, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, and The Wild World of Batwoman.
Proceeds from Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" will go to support Mister Theater, a brand new 80-seat performance venue in Portland's East Side.
