A DAY WITH THE ZIG ZAG POWER TRIO at WOODSTOCK SESSIONS

Woodstock Sessions is honored to present three legendary music industry innovators for the creation of their recording debut. The players will lead a series of both collective and individual workshops discussing genre history, collaboration and the creative process as well as finding ones own creative voice. The workshop will be followed by a catered dinner where attendees will hang out with the players and producers on the studio/farm grounds. After dinner, the band will record their debut album for Woodstock Sessions. In addition to the workshops and meet & greet, all attendees will receive all digital media and video, limited edition signed event poster, 180 gram vinyl of the release and there will be a very special raffle offering personal signed instruments from the players.

With this years focus on social and racial justice, who better to both wax poetic and raise the roof than these three titans of the cause. Visionary guitarist Vernon Reidbest known as the scorched-earth riffer of alt-metal powerhouse Living Colour founded the Black Rock Coalition, an NYC-based collective committed to promoting the creative freedom and works of black musicians, in 1985 alongside journalist Greg Tate (more on him later). Tonight Reid teams with his Living Colour bandmate, drummer Will Calhoun, and downtown staple Melvin Gibbs (of Rollins Band and Arto Lindsay fame) for some fretboard-shredding protest rock action as Zig Zag Trio.
