Sunny Kid from Philadelphia
This year marks the 95th anniversary of the Sunny Kid from Philadelphia, legendary Mario Lanza. As one of the most beloved singers of all time, his repertoire includes over eight hundred arias and songs and seven movies.
He is remembered and idolized by many as performers and audiences from around the world continue to be inspired by his music.
To celebrate this occasion David Gvinianidze, foundation Talents of the World and Multicultural Arts Exchange are coming into a stunning Jewish Cultural Center Shaare Hashamayim with a program consisting of some of the most famous and beloved operatic arias, melodies from musicals and films, and Neapolitan pieces from the repertoire of one of the greatest tenors of the 20th century Mario Lanza.
This unique program will feature the golden voices of our generation who will help you believe in magic again. Hailing from countries as different as Georgia, Cuba, and the USA this evening's three tenors symbolize the vast popularity of Mario Lanza around the world.
Raul Melo Tenor (Cuba) The Havana-born tenor RAÚL MELO has been a regularly invited guest artist with the Metropolitan Opera. He made his MET debut in 2005 as Duca in Rigoletto and was heard in a 2008 Sirius Metropolitan Opera Radio live broadcast as Pinkerton in Madam Butterfly. http://www.raulmelo.com

Pianist: Alexander Pokidchenko Alexander Pokidchenko is one of the most talented musicians of his generation. He plays a music of various genres such as classical, jazz, and popular music, and also composes his own: Alexander graduated from composers faculty of Moscow State Conservatory. Among his creations are musicals, musical fairy tales, and heart-warming songs. Besides music concerts, he creates one-man shows which include both musical compositions and poetry reading. His performances are always acclaimed by critics and audiences. Alexander Pokidchenko is an award-winner of International Festival of Young Musicians in Oldenburg, Germany. He is a participant of musical festivals in Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, France, and Austria.
