Sweet Spot Comedy Night
Sweet Spot Cafe at the Coal Creek Golf Course presents Sweet Spot Comedy Night featuring comedians Deacon Gray, Eugene Kenny, Alan Bromwell and Vinnie Montez for a Special Standup Comedy event on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 7:30 pm.
Deacon Gray, a Comedy Works favorite has opened for the likes of Dave Chappelle, Drew Carey, and Chris Rock. Being raised by a preacher, Deacon has a fun and unique take on being the only comic in his family.
A 27-year comedy veteran, Deacon performed at the Aspen Comedy Festival, and was the winner of the inaugural Great American Comedy Festival, held at the Johnny Carson Theater. Deacon released his first comedy album, "Revival (of the Fittest)" in 2011 and has been named Best Comedy Guru by the Westword.
Eugene Kenny, a regular at Comedy Works has been touring the nation performing his stand-up for over 25 years. He's been featured on BET's ComicView, and has opened for a variety of shows including Dave Chapelle, Larry the Cable Guy, Joe Rogan, Bobby Collins and Doug Benson.
Alan Bromwell is a stand-up comedian and writer from Denver, Colorado. He performs across the country at comedy clubs and theaters including Comedy Works, Liquid Laughs, Loonees Comedy Corner, and The Improv. Hes worked with many big names in comedy, including Ron White, Dave Chappelle, Sean Patton, and Larry the Cable Guy. He produces a monthly show at the Zephyr Brewing Company and a weekly open mic at the White Whale Room, both in Denver.
Vinnie Montez is a compact ball of kinetic energy waiting to explode. A Colorado native with a strong Mexican heritage, his mom and dad were the biggest influences in his life. Always the center of attention at any social gathering, he got into comedy in 2007 with a trial performance at Comedy Works in Denver. A bit of an adrenaline junkie, it gave him a taste of the spotlight, and like a good taco, he found he wanted more: since then he performs regularly at Denver's Comedy Works and has appeared at venues across the nation, including the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas. Vinnie has shared the stage with the likes of Paul Rodriguez, Louie Anderson, Chris DElia, Joe Rogan, Lisa Landry, Gina Brillon, John Crist, Josh Blue, Bret Ernst, Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald, Phil Palisoul and many more.
