Elephant Talks
Elephant Talks is a space for Asian Americans to have conversations on matters that are not openly discussed- even when we face them in our everyday lives. These topics of conversation explore various intersections between identity, faith, culture, community, passion, well-being, church, and work. Our hope is to face these areas of our lives with boldness and honesty in order to build and strengthen our community as we listen, learn, and share with one another.

*The event is not limited to Asian Americans and the themes of faith and church are generally Christian influenced. That being said, we want to welcome anyone regardless of race/ spirituality to join us in our conversations!

*LET'S TALK:

Speaker: Judy Wu Dominick
Talk: Asian Bodies, Kingdom Citizenship, and the American Dream
Intersection: Identity + Faith

Bio:
Judy is an Atlanta-based writer and speaker who helps Christians engage more lovingly and competently across racial, cultural, socioeconomic, and religious lines for the sake of fulfilling the Great Commission and achieving biblical unity. Having been raised in a traditional Taiwanese home by immigrant parents and socialized in majority-white American institutions, she considers herself a third culture kid. This third-culture orientation serves as an important guide in her work.  She has had over 20 years of ministry experience as a lay person in both mono-cultural and multicultural contexts.

Judy completed a B.A. in History at Rice University in 1994, an M.S. in Epidemiology at the University of Texas School of Public Health in 1997, and an M.S. in Physician Assistant studies at Baylor College of Medicine in 1999.  She worked as a physician assistant at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston from 2000-2007 and then independently in the field of alternative medicine until 2014.  She resides in Atlanta with her husband, daughter, and mother-in-law.

You can follow Judy on her blog at http://lifereconsidered.com, on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/JudyWuDominick, or on Twitter at @judydominick.
