He's Built A Fucking Time Machine
Sat Oct 1 8pm + Sun Oct 2 7pm
He's Built A Fucking Time Machine is the third installment in AnimalParts' critically acclaimed Tenderpits Trilogy. (Tenderpits, Revenge of the Popinjay)
In light of recent scientific breakthroughs in time travel, AnimalParts uses this new piece to create a place of discourse around our motives for going back, how we envision our future, and what it truly means to be present.
Also, haters gonna hate. Cause I have a time machine/// *COSMIC TURTLE*
____________________________________ FOUNDED IN 2009 BY ANTHONY JOHNSTON & NATHAN SCHWARTZ, AnimalParts is a binational (US/Canada) performance company based in NYC.
AnimalParts seeks to disrupt, disturb and dismantle the establishment through controlled theatrical chaos. Rigorous and irreverent in equal measure, their work is rooted in a highly physical, post-dramatic approach that invites the audience to be an active participant in every inquiry.
In NYC, their works have been seen at Prelude, The Brick, Dixon Place, 59E59 and Under St Marks - and they have developed work in residencies at Dixon Place, with Horse Trade Theater and at The Bushwick Starr. In Canada, AnimalParts has been presented at Summerworks (Toronto), Videofag (Toronto), GCTC's Undercurrents (Ottawa), Centaurs Wildside (Montreal), and Intrepid OUTstages (Victoria).
Tenderpits was presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (FOUR STARS -The Times of London) and was awarded Best Multimedia Performance at NYC's United Solo Fest. Revenge of the Popinjay, a rap/horror piece examining mob mentality and what it means to be 'heterophobic', ran last April at Dixon Place where it received rave reviews, including The New York Times calling the show "too much" but adding, "you can -and should- applaud the wildness". Revenge of the Popinjay can be seen in Jan 2017 at Vancouver's prestigious PuSh Festival of International Performance.
AnimalParts has received support from the Canada Council for the Arts.
