Classical crossover pianist Jennifer Thomas
This benefit concert for music charities is headlined by award-winning pianist and composer Jennifer Thomas in a rare public performance.  She will be joined by pianist Kelsey Keogh and other special guests.  Held in the intimate Christ Episcopal Church, this elegant evening will be a night to remember!

Jennifer Thomas is a multi award winning American pianist, violinist, composer, performing artist, and recording artist. She was classically trained at Brigham Young University-Idaho, and started composing in 2003, later releasing her first debut album in 2007. Thomas has issued four albums, the latest 'Winter Symphony' released in November 2015.

Thomas is known for writing and performing piano-centered orchestral music from classical music to classical music crossover and cinematic orchestral. While most of her works are original, she also covers classical pieces as well as pop music and movie soundtracks. Thomas has also composed film scores, where she won the Gold Medal of Excellence in the 2011 Park City Film Music Festival for "Music in a Short Film"  as well as a 2012 Hollywood Music in Media Award for "Best Film Score for Documentary/Short".

In 2012 Thomas was named Classical Crossover UK's "Female Artist of the Year".

Thomas' third album, "Illumination" won "Album of the Year" and "Artist of the Year" at the 2013 IMC Awards. In October 2015 "Illumination" also won the "Classical Song of the Year" International Music and Entertainment Association Award  and the Enlightened Piano Radio Award for "Best piano album with instrumentation" at Carnegie Hall New York - where she performed live at the awards ceremony.

Winter Symphony - Jennifer Thomas (pianist) album Thomas' fourth album was released in November 2015. Mixed by 5 time Grammy Award winner Brian Vibberts, contributors included Ricky Kej and Taylor Davis (violinist). Following the album release, Thomas performed concerts at Salt Lake City, Atascocita, Texas and the Benaroya Hall Seattle. The album has received many favorable reviews and in April 2016 won 3 Indie Music Channel awards. In August 2016 Thomas was the recipient of 3 Global Peace Song Awards.

Jennifer will be joined by pianist Kelsey Keogh.  Kelsey fell in love with the piano when she was very little. She grew up listening to many different styles of music, playing by ear and improvising with other musicians.

Taking several years of classical lessons taught her valuable practice skills, the importance of technicality, and vital nuances of artistic expression. Since her early teens, Kelsey has performed professionally as a soloist, and occasionally alongside other artists, including other musically gifted members of her family. Within both public and private settings, she enjoys sharing her interpretations of jazz standards, classics, movie themes and contemporary pop songs, as well as her own compositions. In addition to playing music, Kelsey is also an alumni of the University of Washington, holding a Bachelors degree in Media & Communications Studies.

Kelsey currently performs at various venues in the greater Seattle area, including The Bellevue Collection, SkyCity Restaurant at the Space Needle, and Canlis. In May 2016, she was also a featured pianist in Ten Grands at Benaroya Hall. To Kelsey, being involved in the process and celebration of making music is one of the best and most rewarding endeavors to pursue, and offers an opportunity to connect with others in a unique way.

All proceeds from this concert benefit Sigma Alpha Iota philanthropies supporting local music ensembles and international efforts in music.  Past local beneficiaries have included Tacoma Symphony, Tacoma Youth Symphony, Northwest Sinfonietta and scholarships.
