Thank you for supporting What Dreams May Co & Queens Shakespeare's production of King Lear

King Lear
After another amazing season, with amazing work onstage, with amazing audiences, who were in turn.amazed in 2015, What Dreams May Co in partnership with Queens Shakespeare Inc. again turns the microscope onto two of literatures most famous characters, who on the surface appear to be complete opposites. One a certain boy who will never grow up, the other one of Shakespeares kings who has grown quite old. Yet they both seem to suffer a clear case of Peter Pan Syndrome; flying about from place to place, and oblivious to the destruction they leave in their wake. Following up our successful run of The Terrible Tragedy of Peter Pan, What Dreams May Co is pleased to present William Shakespeares King Lear.

Director Emily C.A. Snyder brings audiences to the last days of Imperial Russia, a world of encroaching cold and darkness, of blowing winds, and crashing thunder. A place where class distinctions are brutally enforced, in the ever shifting battle to keep from beingleft out in the cold. Exploring this timeless work through this high stakes lens, with a female Lear played by Kitty Mortland, audiences will be left to discover their own reason in madness, find the wisdom in folly, and perhapssee a bit of their own nature in the shadow of Lears looking glass.
