CROWNS
Tri-Cities High School Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Drama Program will perform Regina Taylors Crowns Crowns weaves together a variety of stories from different characters, time periods and perspectives that, when integrated with music and dance, create a tapestry of voices that transcend time and place. Crowns, is adapted from a book by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry. Join us as we take a journey with Yolanda, a young African-American girl trying to figure out her identity, her place in the world, and her place in her own culture as her grandmother welcomes her into a circle of women who share their life experiences through the hats they wear. Regina Taylor effectively captures the essence of passing down traditions to the next generation. The show will run from Thursday through Sunday, September 29, 30, October 1 at 7:00 p.m., October 2nd at 4:00 p.m. The performance will be held in the Viola Turner Theater on the campus of Tri Cities High School. Tickets are $7.00 general admission, $5.00 for students.
