St. Tim's Coffeehouse
Located in St. Timothy's Lutheran Church at 9000 Kildare Avenue - Skokie, IL 60076. This is the North Shore's answer for acoustic music in the folk/Americana genre.

The concerts take place in a newly remodeled sanctuary that features comfortable padded arm chairs, added lighting, and an improved sound system. The 150-seat room provides an intimate space and excellent acoustics to enjoy music. Free parking is provided in the church's lot.

Doors open at 6:30PM. People are encouraged to come enjoy light snacks and socialize before the concert. Concerts will begin at 7 PM, with two 45 min sets and an intermission between. The artist will have CDs available for purchase.

The season opens on SEPTEMBER 10, 2016 with BRYAN BOWERS - autoharp extraordinaire. For nearly three decades, Bryan has been to the autoharp what Earl Scruggs was to the five-string banjo. His wit and humor is a part of his singer-songwriter persona. Bryan has an uncanny ability to enchant a crowd in practically any situation.

On OCTOBER 8, 2016, we welcome Nashville singer-songwriter, KEVIN SO. With over 25 years of performing in the USA, Europe, and Asia, Kevin has also collaborated and performed with Grammy winning Keb'Mo', Amos Lee, and too many to name. He brings his unique sound which may include R&B, blues, folk, Americana. You will not be disappointed.

SONS OF THE NEVER WRONG will fill our space on NOVEMBER 12, 2016. This Chicago based trio will enchant you with their three-part harmony and original songs that come from the folk tradition and some melodic planet you might never have visited. They are a delight to see and hear. "Literate, Witty Folk Music" The Chicago Tribune.

We take a break for holiday time and family gatherings to return on:

FEBRUARY 11, 2017 with JEFF and JANIS.  This local duo bring acoustic instruments and vocal harmonies to present a lively interpretation of traditional and contemporary songs. In a cabaret style, they will include background about the music, humor and selected music to entertain us.

CLAUDIA SCHMIDT will grace us on MARCH 11, 2017. She's been perfecting her craft of performing for almost four decades. It's a quirky and wonderful hodge-podge of music, poetry, story, laughter, drama, and celebrating the moment. More succinctly, Garrison Keillor said "When Claudia sings a song, it stays sung".

APRIL 8, 2017 brings MARK DVORAK. On faculty and artist-in-residence at The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, Mark received the Woodstock Folk Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award (2008) for his work as a performer, songwriter, teacher and folk historian. Join us to hear this master musician, storyteller and songwriter.
