Seffarine Benefit Concert for the Syrian American Medical Society
Join us for a unique concert by Seffarine, featuring Arabic, North African and flamenco music as well as originals influenced by those traditions. This special concert will raise money for the Syrian American Medical Society, a nonprofit humanitarian organization established in 2007. Its volunteer physicians deliver direct medical care in Syria, Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon and Greece. All proceeds go to SAMS. Join us in supporting this important cause!

ABOUT SEFFARINE:
Seffarine is a duo formed by Moroccan singer Lamiae Naki and oud player/flamenco guitarist Nat Hulskamp. Their repertoire varies from classical Arabic and Andalusian music to original compositions influenced by the music of widely varying cultures, such as Spanish flamenco, classical Persian music, and American jazz. Seffarine takes its name from the ancient metalworking square in Lamiae's home city of Fes, Morocco. Her family is well known in the Seffarine as master metalworkers continuing the tradition today. The square dates back to the 9th century and is famous for the complex rhythms that can be heard from the blacksmiths' hammers.

ABOUT SAMS:
The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) is a non-profit, non-political, medical and humanitarian relief organization that represents thousands of Syrian American healthcare
professionals in the United States.
Today, SAMS is on the front lines of crisis relief in Syria and neighboring countries to alleviate suffering and save lives. SAMS works to serve the medical needs of millions of Syrians, support doctors and medical professionals, and rebuild healthcare. SAMS provides medical care and delivery all over Syria, establishing over 100 medical facilities and supporting over 1,700 brave Syrian health workers. Our members arrange dozens of medical missions to Syria, Jordan, Turkey, and Greece each year to provide trainings to health workers, deliver assistance, and provide lifesaving healthcare. We support thousands of Syrian refugees in neighboring countries with critical psychosocial support and art therapy programs. Our leaders advocate tirelessly at the highest level of government for civilian protection-oriented policy change and unhindered humanitarian access.
