For more than 10 years, the City of Healdsburg has been hosting the Foss Creek Clean-Up. This event provides an opportunity for residents to participate in the maintenance and protection of our very important waterways. Foss Creek is an important tributary of the Russian River and serves as a home to protected species. In addition, the creek diverts stormwater runoff from the City of Healdsburg.
Volunteers will come together in West Plaza Park for a pancake breakfast provided by Healdsburg Kiwanis, and will then head out to one of 10+ locations around the City to clean up debris from our water ways and/or complete projects that will help to educate and keep our water ways clean.
Once finished, volunteers will come back to West Plaza Park for a BBQ lunch, provided by Healdsburg Rotary, and an awards ceremony!
New this year, we will be expanding the event to incorporate a Smart Living Healdsburg Fair, which will be collocated in the West Plaza Parking Lot with the Healdsburg Farmer's Market. Booths will include: City Departments; local businesses; vendors focused on stormwater, conservation, health, community involvement, etc; and community organizations.
Both the Clean Up and Fair are open to all. We ask that volunteers register for the Clean Up for head count purposes. Registration is not required to attend the Fair.
