The CLE Storyline: A Literary Trolley Tour - a benefit for Lake Erie Ink: a writing space for youth
Come aboard Lolly the Trolley and experience the people and places who have written the CLE Story. Join Lake Erie Ink, one of the city's only nonprofits dedicated to creative writing, as we embark on a journey through Cleveland neighborhoods to discover their next chapter.
Tour + Luncheon: $125
Luncheon Only: $50
9:00am - Enjoy breakfast at Lake Erie Ink before boarding Lolly the Trolley and embarking on a journey through Cleveland neighborhoods with tour guide and playwright Eric Schmiedl.
The tour will include a visit to Lakeview Cemetery, where we will hear stories of people who made an impact in CLE (such as America's first great African-American novelist Charles Chesnutt, rock n'roll great Alan Fried, graphic novelist Harvey Pekar, American industrialist Jeptha Wade, and business entrepreneur John D. Rockefeller).
We will then fly by the birthplace of Superman in the Glenville neighborhood before visiting the Hough neighborhood's historic League Park and thriving Chateau Hough.
12:00pm - The trolley will arrive at the Dunham Barn for a luncheon with keynote speaker Dee Perry, retired host and producer for idea stream and aspiring artist who will share her story with us along with youth writers from Lake Erie Ink.
Further details will be emailed upon confirmation. For more information, contact Lake Erie Ink at (216) 320-4757.
We offer special thanks to our host committee for their dedication in planning this event.
