Sommelier Show Down

Barnett on Washington is excited to host their very first "Sommelier Show Down!" This exciting dinner and pairing is the third installment in Barnett on Washington's series of pop-up dinners.

Andrey Ivanov, Advanced Sommelier, and Alisha Blackwell, Certified Sommelier & Certified Specialist of Wine, will be in the hot seat as they challenge one another in what is sure to be an epic wine pairing showdown!

Andrey is the current Beverage Director at Reeds American Table & the Whole Sales Manager at Bliss Wine Imports. His talents have earned him a long list of accolades in addition to those highlighted here: Winner of the Chaine des Rotisseurs' Best Young Sommelier Competition in 2015 after finishing 2nd in 2014. He advanced to the national finals of Top New Somm 2012-2014, as well as taking home 3rd place in Top Somm 2015. He passed the Advanced Exam in 2011 and received the Rudd Scholarship and the Johnston Medal for achieving the highest overall score in the country that year!

Alisha Blackwell is currently a Wine Rep at Vintegrity Wine and former representative at Ionia Atlantic Imports. She was certified at the top of her class for the Certified Sommelier examination and received the Walter Clore Scholarship for the top score in 2015. In the same year, she passed the Certified Specialist of Wine exam with a near perfect score. She got her start in wine working at Oceano Bistro in Clayton.

Foie Gras, Roasted Potatoes, Brown Gravy and Cheese Curds
