Poly Talk Part 2 w/ Phillip and Irene
The Poly Talk workshop is two 2-hour sessions of short, topic-based lectures (10-15 min) paired with an equal (depending on engagement) amount of Question & Answer time. Our planned topics include Boundaries, Fairness, Communication, Compassion, Metamours, Parenting, Cohabitation, and Good Habits... with an eye towards flexibility and answering the questions of the participants. The presenters, Irene and Phillip, are current partners of more than two years who've come to poly through varied experiences and both hope that sharing their experiences can help others build strong and fulfilling relationships however they choose.
Attendee requirements: - Open mind - Two written questions
Note: This is a two-part series, and while attendees may attend either or both sessions, different topics will be covered in each.
Your ticket to the workshop also gets you 10% Off your same-day in-store purchase (One-time use only per ticket.)
Presenter Bios: Phillip Weber is a software tester and lifeguard by day, safeguarding programmers and swimmers alike from potential disaster. By night he plays and develops games while dealing with the responsibilities of co-founding a local polyamorous community, Polydelphia. After being monogamous together for 3 years, Phillip and his partner Tiff (also a co-founder of Polydelphia) thought it would be a shame to breakup just to date someone new and have been polyamorous for the last 4 years. Occasionally Phillip can speak eloquently about why and how mistakes happen, drop rib-breaking puns into another person's stream of consciousness, and generally act like the person he wants to be.
Irene Khavin is a biologist by day, unlocking the secrets of the human genome and training young acolytes in the ways of science. She and her husband were monogamous for a decade, stumbled into polyamory 6 years ago, and have survived many glorious adventures (and some epic snafus) since then. She shares a household and a diabolically complex Google calendar with him, his partner, her other partner, and their daughter. Her relevant skills include drawing extensive diagrams on napkins, explaining human relationship dynamics to an eight year old, and finding ever more devious uses for the scientific method.
