Why Grizzly Bears? with award-winning filmmaker, Chris Morgan
Making the case for restoration in the North Cascades with award-winning filmmaker Chris Morgan
Film producer, TV host and wildlife ecologist Chris Morgan believes in restoring grizzly bears to the North Cascades. On October 20, Chris will share captivating stories and images celebrating this magnificent and ecologically critical animal.
Fewer than ten grizzly bears are left in the North Cascades, making it the most at-risk bear population in North America. State and federal agencies are currently weighing options for how to recover this endangered population.
DON'T MISS: A raffle during the event will feature outdoor gear and other great prizes from Patagonia, Filson, Cascade Endurance, Second Ascent and Outdoor Research! Each attendee will get one raffle ticket upon entrance, with additional tickets available for $5 each or 5 for $20 (cash only).
$4 ICE COLD BEER AVAILABLE COURTESY OF TWO BEERS
All proceeds from this event support grizzly bear conservation. A Q & A with Chris will be held after his presentation. Staff from sponsor organizations will also be tabling onsite.
Hosted by the Friends of the North Cascades Grizzly Bear, www.northcascadesgrizzly.org. This community event is also supported by Conservation Northwest, North Cascades Institute, Woodland Park Zoo, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, Defenders of Wildlife, National Parks Conservation Association, Two Beers Brewing Company, Cascade Endurance, Second Ascent, Patagonia, Filson, and Outdoor Research.
Western Wildlife Outreach will have their bear trailer in the parking lot to share information about bears and other wildlife. Their bear skulls, hides, life-size mounts and other materials are great for kids of all ages!
