Farmers' Market Tour + Cooking Class in Berkeley
The best meals start with the best ingredients, and the best ingredients come fresh from the farmers market! In this class, you will tour the downtown Berkeley farmers market with a professional chef where you will learn whats in season, meet the growers and learn how to pick out the best fruits and vegetables. After we shop, well head over to the kitchen to cook lunch in a class that features all of the fresh produce. Students will prepare recipes such as:

Fresh cranberry Bean Soup au Pistou
Roasted Delicata Squash with Quinoa, Pomegranate Seeds and Feta
Endive and Apple Slaw with Candied Pecans and Creamy Cheddar Dressing
Grilled Chicken with Sweet and Hot Peppers, Olives and Capers
Fresh Harvest Walnut Tart with Honey Ice Cream

Note: you will need to arrange for transportation between the Berkeley Farmers' Market and the Cooking School Kitchen, about 3 miles away. It's possible that we will have room in a carpool for some students.
