Marcelo Chocolate has danced since he was a kid, and gained admirers frequently for his unpretentious and thoroughly carioca way of moving. As a young man, he participated in a ballroom competition with his sister-- and won. From then on, Chocolate did not look back: he left the military to pursue his love of dance.
Marcelo Chocolate has since catapulted to stardom, becoming a household name in Brazil, especially known for being the heart of samba. A real carioca da gema, and dedicated manguerense, Chocolate lives and breathes his art-- to know him is to know the real Brasil. His joyful and elegant performances have been capturing the hearts of Brazilians for almost 20 years. He has become by far the most popular partner on Brazils DANCING WITH THE STARS coaching famous actresses and singers in the complexities of ballroom dance. Especially enamored by his style have been some of Sambas greatest singers, whove invited him to tour and appear in music videos: ALCIONE, MARTINHO DA VILA, ELZA SOARES, JAIR RODRIGUES, as well as ELBA RAMALHO, and ROBERTO CARLOS.
Brasarte is offering an incredibly unique opportunity, unavailable elsewhere, to study with Marcelo Chocolate for a four week Samba and Brazilian Ballroom intensive. Learn the joyful nuances of Rio Samba and/or the high energy beauty of Gafieira (partner samba). Choose to participate in either one or both series for a once in a lifetime experience with a true Master.
