Brewers Dinner with Alex Tweet of Fieldwork Brewing Co.
Do you like hops? Because the Pangaea Crew most definitely LOVES hops, and we feel that there are very few breweries out there that are doing better things with that illustrious flower than Berkeley's Fieldwork Brewing Company (they also make dope stouts and scrumtrulescent sour beers, for that matter). To celebrate our shared love of hops and all things beer-related with our B-Town Brothers, we're hosting a big beer-paired dinner/party/VH1 Storytellers-style throwdown to close out the 2016 California Brewers Association Craft Beer Summit. Our man Brewmaster Alex Tweet of Fieldwork will bring the beer and the stories, and Chef Brett will whip up the magic in the kitchen.
In the past few months, we have gotten to know Alex a little better, and we are very excited to host this dude for a no-holds-barred trip through his career in the beer industry. He'll walk you through his inspirations and first explorations into craft beer, then on to his start in the industry at Ballast Point in San Diego, on to flexing his skills at Modern Times, and finally on to spreading his wings with his own venture at Fieldwork. You may not know Alex by name, but we guarantee you have had his beers. Grapefruit Sculpin? Yeah, he came up with that recipe. The Pangaea Crew is especially excited for this dinner, since Fieldwork will be our neighbors (and a much-frequented watering hole for all of us) once they open up their Sacramento taproom on Capitol Avenue later this summer.
To match the constantly evolving nature of Alex's brews, we're flipping the script with this Brewers Dinner. Each of the four family-style courses from Chef Brett will incorporate a beer that Alex has created, whether from his past brewing ventures or from Fieldwork itself. All courses will be paired with a brew from the ever-changing roster that Alex crafts out of his incredible Berkeley brewery.
Your ticket includes four family-style courses paired with 8 ounce pours of four Fieldwork beers (plus possible extra guest beers). Brewmaster Alex and Chef Brett will chat about each course and beer, walking you through their inspirations and ideas about each pairing.
Doors will open at 6:00 PM and the dinner will begin shortly after.
