Don't Know Nobody That Boogies Anymore
"Don't Know Nobody That Boogies Anymore," a romantic musical comedy by Andy Gaus, directed by Jackie Davis, is set in the early '70s. Danny (Sean Crosley) is settling down with his high school flame Suzy (Sarajane Mullins) when he meets Marshall (Keith Brinkley), a charismatic clubgoer who promises to extend Danny's partying days. As Danny sorts out his feelings for Suzy and Marshall, he is forced to ask himself who he is and where his loyalties lie. Suzy's friend Elaine (Sirgourney Tanner) and her pastor Reverend Garnett (Franklin Mosley) complete the singing cast.
A rich score of 19 songs captures the characters' emotional highs and lows as they rediscover themselves and each other.
"Don't Know Nobody That Boogies Anymore" is a not-so-nostalgic look back at the '70s, when nobody had a cellphone, people still used typewriters, and many people had never known an openly gay person.
