San Diego Model Railroad Museum presents Routine Pleasures
The San Diego Model Railroad Museum is hosting its first ever installment of the Round House Movie Club. Enjoy craft beer and popcorn while taking in a movie about the allure and nostalgia of the railroads.
Routine Pleasures, directed by University of California San Diego professor emeritus Jean-Pierre Gorin, examines the Pacific Beach and Western Model Railroad Club located at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in 1986. Gorin combines a study of the modelers' fixation on scale modeling with theories on art and representation by the painter Manny Farber. The now disbanded club's detailed recreations of the past are captured through a philosophic lens offering a unique perspective on this classic American hobby.
Admission includes two drinks and popcorn.
