The Rusty's Hope Foundation 1st Annual Gold Gala
Friday, September 30, 2016: The public has the incredible opportunity to come alongside Rylee in memory of her brother Rusty, who inspired so much and still, somehow, keeps inspiring. Rustys Hope, Inc. is hosting Rustys Gold Gala and you are invited to participate. The Gold Gala will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at Sand Creek County Club in Chesterton, IN. The event is being held in September because September is the month dedicated to Childhood Cancer Awareness and gold is the color of the awareness ribbon for all childhood cancers. Rusty dictated a bucket list to Rylee in May 2014 when we had been given the horrific results of his MRI showing his cancer had returned and there were no treatment options left. She carefully wrote down all of the dreams he had knowing he only had months to live. Unfortunately, we were not able to make them all come true in time. Rylee brought us the list and asked if we could help her accomplish a few of Rustys dreams we had not been able to before it was too late. Rylee shared with us that Rusty had wanted to take hip hop dance lessons and then have a dance party just for kids with a real DJ. She asked if she could plan and host a dance party in Rustys memory. Rylee is taking responsibility for the menu (Rustys favorite foods will be served), the gold glitter décor, and she even emailed Dr. Lulla, asking him to come and speak at the event. There will be a DJ, photo booth, silent auction, dancing, and most importantly an opportunity to sow into the hope of finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for pediatric brain tumors. All in memory of our Rusty.
