Derek did post-graduate work at the New England Conservatory, and holds degrees from Indiana Universitys Jacobs School of Music and Lawrence University.

Brian Courage is a bassist and composer originally from Long Island, NY. Brian moved to Minneapolis in the summer of 2012 after finishing his studies at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, WI. While living in Minnesota, Brian performed with many of the area's top instrumentalists, vocalists, and ensembles in addition to a variety of nationally acclaimed visiting artists, including Lew Tabackin, David Hazeltine, J.D. Allen, and Walter Smith III. Brian's primary working group Courageous Endeavors has performed their original music at venues throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. Since his return to New York City in the fall of 2014, Brian has performed at several venues around Brooklyn and Manhattan with the Chris Misch-Bloxdorf Dectet. Brian will be touring the US and Europe extensively this fall as the newest member of an Americana / rock band called Hollis Brown.

Greg is a pianist, passionate teacher, and amateur philosopher/theologian. A native of Foxborough, MA, Greg attended Foxborough High School and received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Lawrence University, in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is a musician who steadfastly holds to Duke Ellington's comments about genre, ("There are two kinds of music: good and bad!") and as such, has studied classical music, jazz, salsa, musical theatre, Ghanaian drumming/dancing/singing, sacred choral music, ballet, rock, and more. Primary teachers include Stephen Massey, Steve Lajoie, Fred Strum, Anthony Padilla, Lee Tomboulian, Dane Richeson, and Nani Agbeli. Greg is a pianist for the Boston Ballet School and Dean College and the Director of Music and First Church Somerville (UCC). He has two awesome sons and a wonderful wife who is an architect designing ground breaking schools all over the world. Greg loves the Book of Job, assiduously picking through the details (of most anything), and afro-cuban folkloric music.
