Yoga for Peace - an evening for community to gather
Yoga for Peace
Join Jonathan Issacs, Sydney Leto and Bel Vance for a special gathering filled with movement and live harp, followed by tea and sweets in The Center.
It's a gathering with the intention of creating peace within, that we might radiate peace back into our communities. When you learn to listen to your senses and tune in to the needs of your own body, it enables space to slow down and hear each other. So we gather, to move, listen and share.
This evening event will benefit ,Transpire Foundation, a Bay Area non-profit delivering life-skills training to under-served communities. Executive Director, Heather Chiu will be present for those who desire to learn more about how they can support change in their local community. For more information on the Transpire Foundation, visit www.transpirefoundation.org
Jonathan has been teaching yoga for 15 years and places the practice above personality. By linking your breath with movement he creates a space for transformation inside and out while developing strength, balance, flexibility and focus - your body-mind becomes a source for wisdom. He's led teacher trainings in San Francisco and retreats to Italy. He founded a coaching organization, Mindscape Coaching, that serves both individuals and organizations. www.mindscapecoaching.com
Bel is a lifelong musician. Said to have sang before she could speak, she grew up performing in the San Francisco Girls Chorus, training in opera as an adult. She became a therapeutic harpist in 2013 to complement 10 years of experience in Traditional Asian Medicine. She uses her deep connection to healing to create an atmosphere that allows you to feel present and at ease. She has performed locally and internationally, and resides here in the Bay. www.soilandstars.com
Sydney received her RYT 200 at Yoga Garden in San Francisco, studying in-part under Jonathan Issacs. Sydney's approach to yoga is big picture, using her practice as a means for finding balance, quiet and strength in an our urban habitat. She has taught in starts ups and studios around the city, and currently teaches Wednesday evenings at the Jewish Community Center. www.sydneyletoyoga.com
