2016 Farm to Table Dinner
We are thrilled to announce that our 3rd annual Farm to Table Dinner will be held at The Cleaners at Ace Hotel in downtown Portland on October 4th from 6-10pm and will be prepared by up-and-coming Portland chefs, Nicole Norsworthy and Risa Lichtman--currently of Ava Genes and Sweedeedees, respectively. Nicole and Risa are launching a new restaurant, Sisters Kitchen, in Portland in 2017 and will be debuting some of their dishes at the Farm to Table Dinner.
Nicole and Risa will prepare a beautifully rustic, mediterranean-inspired dinner featuring produce from our farms. Beer and wine from local makers will be served and, in addition to an exciting meal, attendees will hear from participants in Schoolyard Farms programs about why school farms matter and how we can build more farms at schools. Local businesses like Poler, Ava Genes, Garden Bar, Dove Vivi, and more have donated items for a silent auction that will take place during the event. Its an event thats not to be missed!
The night will be a celebration of community, local agriculture and healthy kids and we hope you can join us. All proceeds will go toward Schoolyard Farms farms at New Urban High School and Candy Lane Elementary, high needs schools whose students benefit greatly from the hands-on experience, and access to fresh produce, an onsite school farm offers.Tickets tend to go fast, so get yours soon!
