Satire. Social commentary. Karaoke.
Grain and Salt will ironically dazzle viewers with "A Dazzle of Zebras", a satirical dance theater piece integrated with social commentary on how we live as a society in this day and age, particularly in big cities such as New York City. An amalgamation of small vignettes featuring current issues and trends such as social media, style, expectations, and technology grounds and propels the work. Trends have become a common language with rules and etiquette, proud moments and guilty pleasures, which can both unite and isolate us. "A Dazzle of Zebras" acknowledges this ebb and flow with honest, awkward, eccentric, reflective, and groovy interactions, which illuminate our own tendencies. New York is a city of extremes: excess, opportunity, failure, hilariousness and irony are a handful of issues and emotions we explore, capture, embody, and escape.
Please join us for a fun-filled, quirky evening of dance, storytelling, improvisation, and disco!
