Abalone!
Abalone! - A historical fiction written by Bill Broder - play about authors George Sterling, Mary Austin, and Ambrose Bierce previously titled "An Alter of the West". Produced by deFaria Productions in association with the Forest Theater Guild , this staged reading is being directed by MaryAnn Rousseau and is set in Carmel California on the coast of the Pacific Ocean at the turn of the century. This historical fiction adult comedy is firmly based upon historical research. Although this presentation is the authors unique creation, it is our hope that it will inspire you to do your own research on the characters Mary Austin, George Sterling and Ambrose Bierce, who did in fact meet in Carmel in 1910. Austin is played by Jeanne McCulloch, Sterling by Patrick McEvoy and Bierce by Keith Decker. Please see our website ForestTheaterGuild.org
