Astoria Tango Orchestra - Back at the Astoria Tango Club
After their smashing success at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing, the Astoria Tango Orchestra, conducted by the internationally acclaimed master bandoneonist Daniel Binelli, comes back home to the Astoria Tango Club.

Daniel Binelli and the Astoria Tango Orchestra, will be joined by Tango dancers: Kelly Lettieri and Diego Gorostiaga.

This event will offer tango dancers and non-dancers the
chance to experience the nightlife of Buenos Aires in the 1940s and 50s with fabulous Golden Age live Tango music, casual Spanish cuisine and most of all, the vintage vibe of a one-of-a-kind nightclub.

Astoria Tango Club takes place at Centro Español, the 140-year old club (41-01 Broadway); a great place to mingle, dance, eat & drink, talk and listen. Even if you dont dare to tango you can still relax and enjoy the singular atmosphere, indulging delicious Spanish food and excellent wine.  Its large dance floor and the sociable atmosphere make meeting people a certainty.

Buenos Aires during Tangos golden era (1940s).
A.T.O is the only "Orquesta típica in the USA. In Argentina, the term orquesta
típica is associated with tango music. The orquesta típica usually comprises a string
section (of violins, viola, and cello), a bandoneón section (of 2 or more bandoneons), and
a rhythm section (of piano and double bass). An orquesta típica is an expanded version of
a sexteto tipico, which includes 2 bandoneons, 2 violins, double bass and piano.
