The Greater Hartford Branch of the NAACP will be celebrating our 99th Annual Freedom Fund and Membership Dinner on Friday September 30, 2016. This event will be held at the Hilton Hartford, located at 315 Trumbull Street, Hartford, CT. The event will begin with the social hour at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.
The Freedom Fund Dinner is our primary fundraiser of the year. Funds raised from this event support our Legal Redress Committee, Education Committee, Youth Council, and other committees in our Branch. Funds raised also support our Back to School Drives, Annual Health Fair, and the Mrs. Ella Cromwell Scholarship fund.
The keynote speaker for the Freedom Fund Dinner will be Rev. Dr. Norvell Goff, Sr. African Methodist Episcopal Church, Murrells Inlet, SC. Rev. Goff, is a former President of the Greater Hartford Branch of the NAACP. In 2015, he was appointed as the interim pastor of the "Mother" Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC, after the terrible tragedy where nine parishioners lost there lives.
