In October 2014, Kiel was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft tissue cancer. He went through 40 weeks of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. The medical staff thought they rid him of cancer. Unfortunately, they found he had 2 more spots on his vertebrae.
At this time, Kiel has had a second round of radiation and is undergoing his second 40 week round of chemo.
Kiel and his identical twin brother are 7 years old. They have a baby sister and reside in Tioga County, Pennsylvania with their parents Nicky (Red Fury #10) and Derrick. Kiel is one of the strongest and bravest kids our team knows. We run for him.
