A native of San Antonio, TX Jimmy James now hails from
New York City & Los Angeles.
In the mid 80's to mid '90s Jimmy James became a darling of the talk show circuit making numerous national television appearances on CNN, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, E, DONAHUE, GERALDO, SALLY, JOAN RIVERS, RuPAUL's VH1 and others...
Back then he garnered international attention as the world's greatest Marilyn Monroe impersonator. To this day, his beautiful natural-like uncanny recreation of the iconic star is unchallenged by anyone.
James was an actor who played the part live! He could actually sing, talk & look like Marilyn Monroe! The transformation was artfully uncanny. However, by 1997 he retired the 'Marilyn' part of his show. He evolved as an artist and broadened his horizons into songwriting, recording and developing his own very popular repertoire of Voice Impressions.
Today his shows are redesigned to includes Live Vocal Tributes to: Cher, Elvis, Barbra Streisand, Adele, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse, Shirley Bassey, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland, Macy Gray, Lana Del Ray, Bette Davis, Eartha Kitt, Patsy Cline and many more...
The New Show "HEARING IS BELIEVING" also includes a couple of his own original songs, one of which, "FASHIONISTA" became a worldwide dance hit and rose to the top of the BILLBOARD dance charts. The song is from his original album JAMESTOWN (iTunes, Amazon).
