Dorian May at Willits Community Theatre

Renowned local jazzman Dorian May will bring his little big band to the Willits Community Theatre Playhouse on Sunday July 17 for an evening show beginning at 7 P.M.

The first set will feature the Dorian May Trio and invited friends playing jazz classics. The Dorian May Little Big Band will fill the playhouse with the finest of American jazz during the second set.

The Dorian May Trio includes Dorian May on piano, Dorothea May on bass and Gabe Yanez on drums. For the Little Big Band, trumpeter Walter Kimmelman joins saxophonist Sonny Cordell in the horn section and Mendocino Coast blues man Earl Oliver joins The Real Sarahs singing sensation Sarah Ryan on vocals.
Look for classic tunes from the 30s and 40s including Take the A Train, Im Beginning To See the Light, Mack the Knife, Slow Boat to China, Cheek to Cheek and the immortal zoot suit anthem, Jump Jive and Wail.
