It is the late '80s and we find ourselves in a parking lot of a convenience store where three men in their early 20s hang out, talk trash, harass the Pakistani owner of the store and revel in recollections of their high school glory days. They drink beer, get high and eat Oreos. The focal point of the evening is the return to town of an old high school chum who has gone on to become a semi-famous rock band singer whose appeared on MTV and arrives in a limo. The joy and anticipation of seeing their friend soon turns into jealousy and bitter anger; the chaos in emotions results in a tragedy. SUBURBIA was hailed as one of the best players of the season and Eric Bogosian's best. The charismatic charm of these talented young actors makes this newest ALA summer season entry a "must see." WARNING: strong language and violence.
