INterACTION
INterACTION, is a performance and outreach program designed to bridge the gap between professional and educational dance. Students ages 7-14 participate in a collaborative effort with MachineHDance company members to create an evening length work focusing on themes that address coming of age, loss of innocence, and society's standards of adulthood. Scholastic and experienced voices will unite to create an evening of work that challenges what most currently label as "professional" dance. Supporting this project and also presenting work are three Queens-based dance companies: Delineation Dance, Fox Force, and Cole Collective.
This program is made possible (in part) by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

Cole Collective, a New York based Tap Company directed by Nicole Ohr, was founded in 2014. The company's mission is to show how music can impact both rhythm and movement of the body. Cole Collective has had the opportunity to perform in a variety of different festivals and shows, including Choreographers' Collective, Queensboro Dance Festival and Dance Astoria.
Delineation Dance is a bi-coastal contemporary dance company that is under the direction of Devon Smith (NYC) and Lisa Anderson (LA). Since the company's inception in 2015, Delineation Dance has had the opportunity to perform various works along both coasts at festivals such as "Awakenings and Beginnings" (LA), "Works in the Works" (Berkeley, CA), "Dance Astoria" (NYC), "8 in show" (Dixon Place Theater, NYC) as well as their full evening length work "Moments Unnoticed" at the Hudson Guild Theater (NYC) which included a cast of both LA and NYC based dancers. Delineation Dance is best known for their raw and emotional movement and are constantly striving to bridge the gap between performer and audience member. @delineationdance
Fox Force is an Astoria based jazz company founded by Andrea Dusel-Foil and Jessica Hope. After years of performing and teaching, Jessica and Andrea wanted a way to express creativity on their own terms. They started Fox Force to showcase the strength and beauty of female dancers. The company performs a wide range of styles and is available to be booked for gigs as well as full evening works. The next upcoming project from Fox Force is "A Night of Tarentino", more details to come soon.
MachineHDance was founded in 2013 by Stephanie Deere and seeks to use collaboration, performance, choreography, and teaching in order to inspire a following of free-thinking and diverse individuals. It is Stephanie's desire to use movement as a medium for cultural exchange and mutual understanding. The company has performed at various festivals including Fertile Ground at Green Space, Dance Astoria, and Sans Limites Dance Winter/Spring Seasons. MachineHDance produced their first evening length performance titled "Spring Cleaning" on March 25th/26th, 2016 to a sold-out house at Williamsburg Movement and Arts Center. The first MachineHDance Summer Festival, showcasing longer works by 16 choreographers is taking place on July 20th - 24th at the Royal Theater. INterACTION is the first outreach program of its kind and the first grant-funded MachineHDance program.
