ABOUT:
WILDLANDS RESTORATION VOLUNTEERS Healing the Land. Building Community. Our story: In 1999, 20 people gathered to plant willows around Heron Pond at Pella Crossing, Colorado. From this humble beginning grew a corps of thousands of volunteers with a formal leadership training program, who donate $1 million worth of labor and expertise at over 60 restoration projects across Colorado's Front Range each year. Learn more about our work to restore lands affected by the floods and fires, and join our volunteers at www.wlrv.org. THE HEARTSTRING HUNTERS The Heartstring Hunters are an indie/folk band based out of Boulder, Colorado weaving the likeness of Joni Mitchell with the harmonies of the Civil Wars. The Heartstring Hunters will perform at TEDx MileHigh this June. Featuring singer-songwriter Carolyn Nicely, producer/multi-instrumentalist Daniel Hunter, accomplished bassist Alessandro Ceserani and exquisite vocalist Rachael Sheaffer, The Heartstring Hunters will hit you in waves of incandescent harmonies while shades of their southern roots peek through. LONE HAWK FARM Lone Hawk Farm is a working farm located in a lovely, secluded part of Boulder County. Starting with a barbed-wire fence and a herd of cattle in 1975, their mission has been to develop the land into a productive, diversified farm providing the wider community with organically-grown produce and a venue for celebrating special events. A long-term goal is to sustainably produce energy as well as fresh local food. There's a good view of the front range and surrounding countryside from the deck of the historic barn. Lone Hawk's gardening equipment, built on-site, is battery-powered and is recharged from solar panels and a wind generator, assuring a clean, quiet growing environment.
