oin us Friday, July 22 at 8pm as sensational pianist and composer Pat Coil returns to the Jazz Cave!

Born in Jefferson City, Missouri, Pat is an extremely accomplished pianist, composer, producer, arranger, programmer, as well as a highly respected studio musician. If you watch television, listen to the radio, or go to the movies, you have heard Pat and some form of his music.

Pat has toured Japan, South America, Europe and the U.S. with such artists as Michael McDonald, Carmen McCrae, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Woody Herman and many others. Pat has recorded with many artists including Natalie Cole, Trisha Yearwood, Ernie Watts, Carmen McCrae, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Travis Tritt, Peter Cetera, Woody Herman, Scott Henderson and Michael McDonald. His talent spans the musical spectrum of pop, jazz, R&B, gospel, country.

Pat continues his successful career composing, recording, performing, producing and arranging. He has composed, produced and performed on hundreds of underscores heard on a variety of media all over the world.

Until recently a longtime Nashville resident, Pat is now a member of the jazz faculty at the University of North Texas. Prior to that he was on the jazz faculty at Middle Tennessee State University, teaching jazz piano, combos, and improvisation.

Pat has recorded six jazz albums as a leader, the third one being a collaboration with Lyle Mays. True North and his latest album Birdhouse are available at patcoil.com and cdbaby.com.

Joining Pat for this special show will be a trio consisting of NJW Director and co-founder Roger Spencer on bass, and world-renowned drummer Danny Gottlieb (Pat Matheney, Mahavishnu Orchestra, & many more).

There will be two sets beginning at 8:00 pm in the Jazz Cave at the Workshop. Admission is $25 / $15 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday July 11 at 10AM and will be available online on this page, by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.

Policies: The Jazz Cave is a BYOB establishment, with no alcohol or food service. You are free to bring alcoholic beverages and snacks. We sell soft drinks and bottled water. The Jazz Cave is a listening room, and we ask patrons to keep conversation to a minimum and silence cell phones. Audio and video recording is prohibited. Ticket sales are final.
