Justice & Hope Conference
The Justice and Hope Conference is designed for professionals and volunteers who work with people who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
Workshops Include:
Trauma Informed care 101 Keynote Speaker- Dr. Mandy Davis, LCSW, PhD Trauma informed care, the impact of trauma and how trauma affects consumers access to services.
Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking of Youth (Part 1) Presenter, Leslie Briner, MSW The social and cultural context of sexual exploitation, the sub-culture of prostitution, risk factors, identification, engagement techniques and local resources.
Economic Abuse: Recognizing and Addressing a Barrier to Safety and Recovery Presenters- Sarah Gonzalez Bocinski & Malore Dusenbery Define economic abuse, its connection to economic security and safety, the prevalence and range of tactics that constitute economic abuse. Discuss tools and strategies to screen for economic abuse within and across multiple sectors. Review resources and remedies available to survivors.

Advocacy Strategies to Advance Economic Security and Justice Presenters- Sarah Gonzalez Bocinski & Malore Dusenbery This session will provide strategies and best practices that advocates and justice system professionals can use to help reduce the cost of justice system participation. The presenters will also help participants identify the availability of economic relief and improve opportunities within the criminal justice system for survivors to secure economic justice.
Creating Safe Space for the LGBTQ Community Presenters- Karen Kopulos, MA & Stephen Herndon Enhancing skills around working with LGBTQ individuals, couples, and families of all ages through building rapport through language and understanding. This workshop looks at intersections of oppression and explores domestic violence and sexual assault as it relates to the LGBTQ community.
