Marie Schumacher and the West Coat Players
Marie Schumacher is a songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, pianist and vocal arranger based in Portland, Oregon, who has released four CDs of original acoustic rock music with Latin, R & B and Americana elements. Her songs have been featured on KFOG and KUSF in San Francisco and PRP FM in Portland. Her influences include Aimee Mann, Chris Isaak, the Cowboy Junkies, Marisa Monte, and Everything but the Girl.
Marie's live band features a talented and versatile line-up of musicians, who play multiple instruments and provide rich backing vocals. Part of the bands show includes a few vocal selections, sung a cappella.
Players include:
Steven Patton on keys, guitar, melodica, ukulele and vocals
Aaron Elliott on bass, guitar, and vocals
Jason Elliott on drums and percussion
Steven Patton and Aaron Elliott, who are long-term musical collaborators and friends, will play an opening duo set. They are members of the funk-fusion band Andrew's Ave and are involved with several other music projects as well. They are both instructors for PDX Vox.
