With astonishing footage from around the world and breathtaking cinematography, the filmmakers present their documentary as a chance to see the positive changes taking root in our food system. Join us for a screening and see real farmers, growing real food, and the people driving the revolution!

Panelists Janet Aardema & Dan Gagnon, owners of Broadfork Farm: "Janet Aardema and Dan Gagnon have owned and operated broadfork farm since 2011, growing 150 families' worth of vegetables on a small parcel of land in Chesterfield county. Certified Naturally Grown and farming full time, they support their family of six with the farm business. Before starting the farm and while balancing farming and off-farm jobs, Janet and Dan worked as educators (in farm, wilderness, and alternative ed settings), not-for-profit administrators, on various farms in the NW and NE, and were avid gardeners. Both have bachelors degrees in Biology. Janet also has Masters Degree in Education. Vibrant soil biology, nutritious and fabulously delicious food, and passionate community members eating the food they grow are what motivate and inspire them."
Kate Ruby, Manager of the Farmer's Market @ St. Stephen's: "Kate Ruby is in her fifth year as market manager of the Farmers Market @ St. Stephens. She is the president of the Virginia Farmers Market Association and a founding member of the Capital Area Farmers Market Association. Both organizations are dedicated to the development of strong sustainable farmers markets through collaborative efforts and shared resources. Kates passion for local foods developed from a love of gardening and cooking. While these skills are an excellent background for any farmers market manager, it is her professional training in counseling that has served her best when growing our markets."
