Cook With What You Have
Do you want to make better use of the food available in your kitchen as well as prepare meals more efficiently with less waste? Join Slow Food Corvallis and food educator Katherine Deumling as she demystifies the process of cooking seasonally and simply, enhancing fresh ingredients with pantry items to produce meals that are both delicious and healthy. Katherine will explain and demonstrate her methods while preparing a light meal for participants to enjoy. The cooking will be interactive and engaging with opportunity for questions and discussion.

As a special bonus, the event will begin with a tasting of the delicious 2014 SLOW Pinot Noir accompanied by an appetizer featuring Navajo-Churro lamb, a heritage breed of lamb raised by Slow Food member Mickey Clayton of Dot Ranch. The wine will be available for purchase at the Co-op.
Slow Food Corvallis is fortunate to have Katherine come to Corvallis to share her joy in cooking every day meals in a sustainable and satisfying way. A cook, gardener, food educator and activist, Katherine has been involved with Slow Food in multiple capacities for many years. She lives in Portland OR with her husband and son.
