Come join the Fairfield-Nirasaki Sister City Program at its 4th annual "Japan Fest" fundraising event on Saturday, August 20! The event will run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Fairfield Community Center at 1000 Kentucky Street.
There will be exciting performances and activities for all ages, as well as great food. Performers include Sakura-ren, a traditional folkdance group, and a musical ensemble led by renowned koto artist Shirley Muramoto-Wong. Children and families can do origami and calligraphy, and learn about many other aspects of traditional Japanese culture, such as ikebana, at our numerous activity and game tables. There will also be Japanese goods for sale.
All proceeds from this event will go to the Fairfield-Nirasaki Sister City Program's annual student exchange activities, continuing a 29 year tradition of fostering important cultural exchange and understanding!
