This workshop will provide an overview of the community mental health system and its programs(FSP, FCCS, Innovations Programs, Wraparound, Housing First, etc.) for children, transition aged youth (TAY), adults, and older adult populations. The primary goal of this workshop is to support participants in becoming knowledgeable about the different programs within the community mental health system and their interrelationships with each other, combining clinical supervisor, QA, and hiring manager perspectives. A thorough knowledge of distinct mental health programs is essential in focusing a job search, being prepared for a successful job interview, and ultimately being able to provide effective services in the community.
This workshop is designed for students and graduates of psychology and counseling (MFT, LPCC, LCSW) programs who are interested in working for DMH-contracted agencies.
Workshop participants will receive resource materials and a certificate of completion.
Course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
Individuals wishing to receive continuing education units for this course must present their BBS License Number and photo ID at workshop check-in.
