Deep knowledge and wisdom already exist within our diverse communities. SOAR is committed to raising authentic community voice so that programs and policies truly respond to community interests and needs.
From this perspective, community conversations are in themselves actions, bringing us together to listen to each other, learn from individual and shared experience, and be inspired to apply what we learn to how we think, plan and work. We know that we are stronger together.
Program elements will all relate to the theme of raising individual and collective voices so that community knowledge and wisdom can lead to positive change. Content will include spoken word and musical performances, "short-talk" presentations by members of the community who may not usually have a public platform, World Café table conversations, graphic recording, presentation on ways to make our collective knowledge actionable, many opportunities to network with and learn from community members and professionals, and resource tables.
